Coleman bringing in the big guns?

Two weeks ago Norm Coleman went to bat for the Mayo Hospital and stated that he would oppose and DM&E expansion without the US Transportation Department first addressing the Mayo’s concerns.

Recent developments suggest that Coleman is serious about pleasing everyone.

St. Paul, Minn. — (AP) – U.S. Transportation Secretary Mary Peters will travel to Minnesota next week for meetings on the expansion plan by the Dakota, Minnesota and Eastern Railroad.

Minnesota Sen. Norm Coleman announced the visit. Coleman says he’ll accompany Peters on her trip to Rochester on Monday.
